hidden abilities i've discovered that come easily to me:

    writing

    playing scrabble

    fundraising

i am thankful for the people God gave to love me.  i reflect on my relationships - and i have such a good handful of them that are deep and loyal and true.  i am spoiled beyond spoiled.

i really need to get a grip on everything that's happening with school.  i cannot be all lazy with this as if how things proceed are unimportant - as i treat many things in my life.  no, this is serious business and i need to treat it as i treat agape and God's work, where i am on top of things 5000%.

i need to wake up earlier, be more purposeful with my last few days.

when i almost committed myself to go to india for long-term mission work, rev billy told me that this was not me giving up my all for Jesus but only the beginning - that there will be more continuous things to give up, to die to myself.  after having mentally discarded my life of luxury, those words were surprising to hear and i still ponder them.  what i am doing now is no great feat.  but i do not think of it as a beginning - pastor aaron says it is a continuance.  i keep going since the moment i was reborn; i keep learning, i keep growing.  it is interesting to consider how as my physical body has begun the process of deterioration towards death (yay 30), that my spiritual attachment to the world will also (hopefully) gradually deteriorate.  then, when the time comes for God to take me home, i will already be completely ready to go.

    i was running yesterday

and besides the mile and a half that God was giving me words to preach again

i was also just thinking about all the things that are happening

all that God is doing in me and my friends

    im finally going to seminary

    dana's taking classes at ats

z's applying for gordon and westminster

ray's in a missionary training program

vic realized his desire and purpose to be in the mission field

jose was called by God to go to india

i am SO PUMPED! fist pumped!  God is calling us out into the harvest field and i am excited.  we are all going and wherever God leads us, we'll always be connected no matter where we are - because we love God and we are going to do His work.  go go go

    new chapter

  • i started preaching in my head again walking back

this time to servants of Christ

i pictured me saying it to the congregation.  a rally cry.  to call all those out, all the brothers and sisters of mine

if you are a worker of God -

if you seek to bring Him glory in all that you do

wherever you are, whenever it is, no matter what the situation or who you're with

    stand up and be proud

not in your own abilities but to boast that Christ has claimed the victory

you are heirs to the throne

    you are beloved

    God sees you

and if you acknowledge Him here

He will acknowledge you in Heaven

    keep pressing forth

love like that which the world has never seen

we will reclaim this world for Jesus

i pictured me saying to jose

    you cannot lose

/one day we will all be reunited together.  and this world will have past.

/"faith" is a scary thing.  you are pretty much out of your mind.

/the workers of God need encouragement.

i read a post (addressing men) on a forum which said that all girls are insecure.  women are told from the moment we are born that we are not good enough - not thin enough, not attractive enough, our skins aren't smooth enough, flawless enough, soft enough, etc.  i was surprised to realize how true that was.  then i became indignant about my own insecurities.  and then indignant over any expectations men might have because of the same sources.  boo to you society.

    everyone is beautiful.

/unless you're ugly on the inside.  that's much, much worse.  especially since that's what God sees.
